Ghost Hunting!

A HUGE thanks to all of you who have written and supported The Dying Breath - everyone's been excited (my agent and editor) and there may be more. I'd also like to ask everyone to do me an incredible favor - pleasepleaseplease go to Amazon and Barnes & Noble and write your positive comments on their review sites. It could really make the difference on going forward with this series!

Right now I just have to share where I've been and what I've been up to, which is ghost hunting in the Stanley Hotel (inspiration for Stephen King's The Shining) with Grant and Kris, Amy and Britt. (Alas, Jason was home sick with the Swine flu.) It was totally awesome and I learned a lot that I will use in my new book Dragonfly Eyes. I'll blend the paranormal along with the forensic science in that series, so there should be something for everyone! As always it's hard to squeeze everything in - I'll be leaving for Florida this Sunday and will keep traveling right up until Christmas. I'll try to get some pictures up of me on the hunt with all my ghostly gadgets. I crept through the tunnels beneath the hotel and did EVP and K2 sessions, which at one point got a bit creepy. The things I do for research!

Again, thanks so much for your amazing feedback on The Dying Breath. You all ROCK!

You are always and will forever be a character! YES, you're in my book (alas, you are dead) and are just as hauntingly funny there as on planet Earth. No plans as of now to go to Utah, so GET ME INVITED! And I'll be in touch when I'm writing your lines. You are a hoot!

I just finished reading your first 3 books and have requested the newest one (somehow I missed that one last week when I discovered the rest of the series). The action is fast paced and I can't put them down! Thanks.

I LOVE the "Christopher Killer series, it is one of my favorite! I have to admit, I did NOT like Kyle from the beginning, and I have ALWAYS loved Justin. He and Cameryn ahre perfect for each other! I am rereading the first, second, and third before reading the fourth and I am shooting through them so that I can begin the fourth. I can not wait to read it; plus, Cameryn and Justin finally become a couple, I heard! Thanks, Alane, for writing such AWESOME books! I love them all. The third book's ending was SO crazy! It actually kind of scared me, and it made me super excited to read the fourth! Thanks, again, don't stop writing; I would love to read more about Cameryn, Justin, Lyric, Adam, and the deaths that Cameryn solves! I am a huge fan!!!:)

hey alane. its taylor again. i peronally own the christopher killer and the dying breath. though i lent my book (the christoher killer) that was autographed to a girl at my school BIG MISTAKE. It has been almost a year and she hasnt returned it yet! I have tried to call her, email her, and even talked to her mom in person! I need help on what to do!! THNX!! :)

To Taylor: OHMYGOSH, I HATE it when that happens! My best advice is to get another copy and let me send you a book plate. (A book plate is big label that I can sign. You just stick it where my signature was before and there you go, instant signed book!) You can buy TCK on Amazon or find it at a bookstore. Again, if you do that, let me know and I'll ship the book plate right off.

Now, to get all philosophical about your question...hmmmm... you have to think about this friend and what she means to you as a person if you're truly frustrated to the point of losing her from your life. As for me, I rarely let a 'thing' come between me and a friendship, unless said person loses a LOT of my property, which in that case would make me believe he/she didn't respect me. Under those circumstances I would cut that person loose. So, in my world, if the book-losing was a one time event I would consider it an item lost and I would just let it go. (You've done absolutely everything you can, so I'm guessing she lost it and doesn't want to tell you.) On the upside, now you have a lesson learned about this girl: you know that even if you stay friends you would under no circumstances loan her anything else, as in, "I'm sorry, but I can't lend you *blank* because last time I gave you The Christopher Killer it vanished. So bring me my book back and I'll think about "blank.*" See? It's experience that teaches you to navigate through life!

Hope that helps! XO's from Colorado!
