The Forensic Murders

Hi everyone!

I'm knee deep in guts again, busily sawing away at imaginary decedents in my newest book, The Forensic Murders. Or, do you prefer the title The Forensic Academy Murders? I'm on the fence on this one and just wondered what you, my wonderful readers, thought! In between all the writing (I'm still sneaking away to hammer out Dragonfly Eyes on the side) I'm speaking, visiting eight states between now and April to talk about my passion, which is writing! First stop, Omaha, Nebraska, starting February 13th and going through the week. Corn Huskers, here I come!

Oh, and all is right in the world now that Damon from The Vampire Diaries is back with his blue, blue eyes. I'm so team Delena, although I've been intrigued by the newest Caroline/Matt/Tyler twist. I SO dig this series and my other favorites, which include anything at all with ghosts (Supernatural, Ghost Hunters, and the (alas) canceled Medium). I also love Modern Family, Glee, The Middle, and I Survived. On the reading front, I've just reread The Hunger Games (fantastic) and keep crying EVERY time I read the Mockingjay epilogue, which is pretty pathetic since I of course know how it ends. That's the beauty of truly great writing - it never stops moving a reader. Three cheers for Suzanne Collins!

Speaking of writing, I'd better stop blathering and get back to it. Despite being a pacifist, I have to say that in my writing world, there are so many to kill, and yet so little time...

XO's,

Alane Ferguson

I think I like The Forensic Academy Murders, personally. :)

So Alane, I signed up for WIFYR again this year, and I'm doing the new Writer's Boot Camp class. I'm so excited! I was a little sad to see that you weren't going to be there this year though. Anyway, it's good to hear what you're up to. Good luck with the writing! :)

I'm team The Forensic Murders. And since I have a character based on me, I get TWO votes.

Actually, David gets TEN votes, since his character so rocks in Dragonfly Eyes! And Karen, (you get ten votes, too, because you're such an amazing writer) I know you'll have a fantastic time this year at WIFYR. Unfortunately, my plate got way, way too full, but there's always next year.

Back to forensics. I'm just finishing up research any of you can find on the Frontline PBS website. The show deals with the true state of coroner's offices and medical examiners and the uneven way death is handled state by state. Like I've said in my books and when I speak, real life death is NOTHING like what is portrayed on C.S.I. and their ilk. It's much messier and way scarier. So! Back to work for me!

I think that The Forensic Murders rolls off the tongue more easily. But I'm sure either one will be great!!! I can't wait for the fifth book. Absolutely loved the first four :)
Keep up your lovely amazing writing!

P.S. I love the show I survied. It's amazing (and a little sad) to hear people's stories. Not sure if you know but their's another show off of I survived it's called - I Survived: Beyond and Back. It's like I survived, the people tell their traumatic stories, excpect during their trauma they died and they are telling about what happened when they died, where they went to, what it felt like, all the way to when they were revived. It's a good show too. Love it!

P.S.S. so sorry for this being so long...hehehe

I LOVE I Survived: Beyond and Back, because I think it gives us a glimpse into what's next. Biggest lesson I learned from Beyond & Back is that in your life review, what's always the most important is how we treat our fellow man. Let's all be gracious and kind and loving, because what we do here matters!

I like The Forensic Academy Murders. But The Academy Murders might be better. The Forensic Murders is just a little bland. It tells you too much about the book. Titles are better when they excite you when you first see it.

I am a big fan of your forensic mysteries and i love Justin and Cammie. So, I was wondering if you had any idea as to when The Forensic Academy Murders comes out because I'm dying (no literally) to read it, and I want to get it for my library so I can be the first to read it.

Hi Alane!I'm in middle school and i think your an amazing writer.Since i read the firt book in your series, I honestly feel like I'm a younger version of Cameryn Mahoney. Although i know that I'm at a very young age for the kind of subject or matter in your books,i still read them and reading the whole series twice was sooo not a waste of time by the way.I would like to thank you with all my heart because you have led me to my career choice and i love forensics. My family thinks im crazy :)but forensics have become my passion.I have always felt like an outsider, but forensics has been the only thing that conforts me.If it isn't too much to ask for I just wanted to know if you have ever talked to Dr.Jan Garavaglia. If so i would like to know how she handles her daily job with ,well, death. From your experience in the forensic world,i would also like to know how someone can handle emotions and personal life, when dealing with case that involves a child. If you read this comment thank you soo much if not i understand, plz write back if you can!

Your BIGGEST Fan,

Aleyda

Ok so correct me if I'm wrong but the order of your books are:
The Christopher Killer
The Angel of Death
The circle of Blood
The Dying Breath
The Forensic Academy Murders (or whatever yo want to call it)
and Dragonfly eyes.

Please tell me if I'm wrong. If I am wrong please put them in the right order for me. Thanks. Btw I usually don't enjoy reading, but you made it fun again. No joke. Also I've gotten very interested in being a forensic patheoligist (sorry I have NO idea how to spell it) keep up the good work :)
P.S. I think The Forensic Murders works well
P.P.S. please don't stop writing this series. You have amazing gift.
